Ridgecrest Roar – February 9, 2025

Principal’s Message

Good evening Ridgecrest families,

What a wonderful evening we had with so many of you at our Chinese New Year celebration. Thank you for joining us in this annual community event that we love to share with you all!
I also want to thank our PTA committee who put in a lot of hours and effort to make this a wonderful event each year. It would not happen without them.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Scheduling for Parent Teacher Conferences is open. They will be held on February 24th and 26th in the evening. Our DLI classes will also hold conferences during the daytime Monday – Thursday of that week. Please note that school will release at 1:40 PM on Thursday, February 27th and no school will be held on February 28th.

Please sign up for your opportunity to speak to your child’s teachers using Parent Square. Watch for information from your child’s teacher telling you how and when to sign up for your time.

Kindergarten Enrollment

If you have a child that will be five years of age on or before September 1, 2025, your child qualifies for kindergarten this fall. State law requires that all school districts in Utah abide by the same September 1st entrance cut-off date.If you have an incoming kindergarten student, please begin the enrollment process by following the steps outlined on our website. Families interested in enrolling in a school that is different from their neighborhood school will need to submit a school choice permit application before enrollment can begin. Intent to Return

Please help us to better plan for the next school year by completing the Intent to Return form, found here, if you are not planning to return to Ridgecrest next year. A paper form is also being sent home on Monday for those who prefer a paper copy. Thank you for your help with this.

Lost and Found

With a bit of warmer weather has come a lot of jackets and coats in our lost and found. Please remind your child to check this, or come in and take a look!
We will be donating what is left in our lost and found after school next Friday, 2/14/25

Reading Challenge Update

Our Ridgecrest tigers continue to excel in the Road to Success reading challenge. The competition for the bike that will be given away will conclude the end of March. However, our school reading challenge continues through the end of the year. We are trying to reach 1 million minutes read! Here are our most recent stats:

We have read 389,199 total minutes so far this year with 94% of our students participating!

We are currently #1 in Canyons School District of those schools participating in this challenge and we are #15 in the whole state of Utah!
