Who We Are
Ridgecrest Elementary has spent 59 years serving families in Cottonwood Heights community. We are the home of the Tigers! Ridgecrest offers many opportunities for diverse learning. We host the Chinese Dual Immersion program as well as Road to Success, Ridgecrest Runners, Dragon Dance Troupe, Book Blitz Jr., Chess Club, two school choirs, and many leadership opportunities for our older students.
Our Mission
The mission of Ridgecrest is to provide a proactive education of academic excellence where all students achieve in a respectful and safe environment that honors diversity, welcomes community, fosters positive relationships, and facilitates a desire to become a life-long learner and contributing member of society.
2026-2027 TSSP Goals
Reading Goals
By Spring 2027:
- Kindergarten: At least 70% of students will be above benchmark on NWF-CLS according to Acadience testing.
- 1st – 2nd Grades: At least 80% of students will be at or above benchmark on Acadience Spring ORF, with at least 65% of students who score below or well below benchmark making typical or higher growth.
- 3rd – 5th Grades: At least 70% of students will be at or above proficient and/or grow at least one proficiency level by the Spring RISE ELA benchmark.
Math Goals
By Spring 2027:
- At least 70.67% of K-5th grade students will be proficient or above on Spring 2027 District Wide Standards-Based Assessments (DWSBA).
School Climate Goal
By Spring 2027:
Increase the percentage of students who are on track with attendance to 70% each term, as measured by Early Warning Systems (EWS).
