Monthly Meeting Agenda

  • Finish roster information; update on website/and submit to Susan Edwards (Due 10/20)
      • State audit in October for the website
  • Minutes Approved for last meeting via email

      • Anna moved to appoint Carrie as the PTA Liaison

  • Review and Revision of SCC Bylaws & Rules of Order & Procedures
      • District Training gave information on what needed to be updated on Bylaws
      • Only a couple of things needed to be changed on the Bylaws according to the outline of the district. 
      • Updates to the election area. If we need to vote in the future, we can do digital elections. 
      • Simplified the language.
      • Use Robert’s Rules of Orders for formality. 
      • Anna moved to change the new bylaws

    • Update: Amendment to TSSP and LAND Trust Plan passed on 9/5

  • Preliminary final report for last year’s LAND Trust plan
    • We are under the 10% threshold
    • Reading Goals 24-25:
      • Kindergarten: 80% at or above benchmark on NWF-CLS
        • Made goal in kindergarten
      • 1-3: 75% at or above benchmark on ORF
        • Under goal for grade growth and proficiency
      • 4-5: 60% proficient on RISE benchmarks
        • Under goal in 4-5th grade
    • Math Goals 24-25:
      • At least 75% of 3-5 students, and at least 80% of K-2 students will be proficient on the Acadience Math Composite
      • At least 60% of students who score below or well below benchmark will meet or exceed typical growth on the Acadience Composite Pathways
    • Math Data 24-25:
      • Kindergarten: 85% of students at/above benchmark on Math Composite Score Acadience Testing. 
      • 1st: 68% of students at/above benchmark on Math Composite Score Acadience Testing.

    • Overview 
      • Reading intervention teacher resigned from teaching kindergarten part time and money is moved so we could afford a full time kindergarten teacher
        • The reading intervention teacher is going to be an instructional aide instead
      • Normally there are two behavior aides, but there is only one currently at our school. Principal and Vice Principal are helping more with behaviors.
        • Plan to hire an additional MTSS assistant for lunchroom help and behavior needs

      • 4th grade is using Botvin

      • Implementing Thrive Time throughout the school year
      • Careful, systematic implementation of tier 1 PBIS 
      • Coaching cycles focused on 4:1 positive to corrective ratio of feedback
      • Monthly assemblies focusing on Thrive Time topics and importance of attendance
      • Response to SRSSIE data throughout the year to address social emotional needs

    • Safe Walking Route:
      • Step by step walking routes
      • Boundary Map
      • Routes north of Fort Union are guiding to bus stops.
      • There are some potential draining issues in the community.
      • Chris Lane is still a concern for sidewalks.
      • There are concerns with using crosswalks and picking up kids at the end of the school day.
  • School Safety, & Digital Citizenship Plans: Review last year’s plans and begin writing (Due Dec 19)
  • Additional school climate updates or principal report 
  • No major updates outside of the new hires within the school.

The SCC Trainings for the 2025-26 school year will be:

  • October 1(Wed):  9 a.m. or 6 p.m.
  • October 2(Thurs):  10 a.m. or 6 p.m.

All members are expected to attend one session; the principal and chair are required to attend. 

*All of the above trainings will be in the Canyons Center at the District office, 9361 S. 300 East, Sandy
