Principal’s Message:
Good evening Ridgecrest families,Thank you for a great first week of our joint school and PTA fundraiser. We are so grateful for our community. This week our fundraiser continues with small ways that students can participate each day. We have prizes and activities arranged that all students can participate in as our school reaches fundraising benchmarks. Please continue to help us fund the extra activities that make elementary school so memorable. See below for more information from our PTA about this year’s only fundraiser.
We also have a lot of before school and extra curricular activities that are starting. Please see below for information about these as well.
Picture Day
Our picture day is on Monday, September 15th. Please remember these must be paid for online or with exact change given to the photographer before the picture. Our front office does not manage the money for pictures taken. There is a digital flier attached that explains how to order your pictures. You can also email: contact@eastmanadams.com for help.
Fun Run Volunteer
We love having our families volunteer to help with our wonderful events like the Fun Run. Please remember that all adults must work through the volunteer background check before we can allow you to volunteer and work with our students. This process must be completed every year. It is a quick link for you to complete but can take 48 hours for approval. Please complete this today so you can be part of our upcoming activities.
Click here to complete the volunteer application.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Conferences will be held on September 22nd and 23rd in the evenings. Our DLI classes will also hold conferences, during the day time, Monday – Thursday of that week. Scheduling for Parent Teacher Conferences will open soon. Available spots are first come first serve on Parent Square. Watch for more information from your child’s teacher.
Please note that school will release at 1:40 PM on Thursday, September 25th, and there is no school held on September 26th.

Instrumental Ensemble
After a successful first year, I am happy to announce we will once again be doing an instrument ensemble! We will be learning music on our classroom instruments (mostly xylophones and drums) to perform at the choir concert on December 9. Being able to read music is helpful, but not required.

The application window will close on Tuesday, September 30. I will contact students who have been accepted by Friday, October 3. Please fill out an application at https://tinyurl.com/RidgeInstr25 For questions about choir or the instrument ensemble, please contact Mrs. Longhurst at sherise.longhurst@canyonsdistrict.org
Thrive Time
This week, we are starting our Life Skills curriculum called Thrive Time. On Mondays during Morning Meeting, each class will spend some time learning skills to help them be successful. We will learn about handling feelings, setting goals, making helpful decisions, respecting ourselves and others, supporting our community, and resolving conflict. This week, we will begin our Respecting Myself and Others unit. Respect is one of our school rules, we’ll be learning more about cooperating, communicating, and being a good friend – all things that show we are being respectful!
