Who We Are
Ridgecrest Elementary has spent 57 years serving families in Cottonwood Heights community. We are the home of the Tigers! Ridgecrest offers many opportunities for diverse learning. We host the Chinese Dual Immersion program as well as Road to Success, Ridgecrest Runners, Dragon Dance Troupe, Book Blitz Jr., Chess Club, two school choirs, and many leadership opportunities for our older students.
Our Mission
The mission of Ridgecrest is to provide a proactive education of academic excellence where all students achieve in a respectful and safe environment that honors diversity, welcomes community, fosters positive relationships, and facilitates a desire to become a life-long learner and contributing member of society.
2024-2025 TSSP Goals
Reading Academic Goal
By Spring 2025:
- Kindergarten: At least 80% of students will be at or above benchmark on NWF-CLS according to Acadience testing.
- 1st – 3rd Grades: At least 75% of students will be at or above benchmark on ORF with at least 65% of students who score below or well below benchmark making typical or higher growth according to Acadience testing.
- 4th – 5th Grades: At least 60% of students will be at or above proficient in ELA as measured by the RISE benchmark assessments. (48.3% were proficient last year.)
Math Academic Goal
By Spring 2025, at least 75% of 3rd-5th grade students, and at least 80% of K-2nd grade students will be proficient on the Acadience Math Composite. At least 60% of students who score below or well below benchmark will meet or exceed typical growth on the Acadience Math Composite Pathways.
School Climate Goal
By Spring 2025, we will decrease the percentage of students who are at risk, off track, or severe with attendance by 5% each term, as measured by Early Warning Systems (EWS) data.
