Ridgecrest Roar – August 31, 2025

Principal’s Message:

Good evening Ridgecrest families,Thank you for your continued support getting your children to school on time each day. We are noticing that our attendance is high and tardies still low, and we would love to see this trend continue. It makes a big difference to teachers and the classroom activities to have each child in class at the start of the day.
Please also remember we do not have school tomorrow as we celebrate Labor Day. We will see you all on Tuesday.

Personal Technology at School

As a reminder, our school policy states that all internet enabled personal technology must be turned off and remain in student backpacks through the school day. This includes all cell phones and smartwatches. These items may not be worn or used during the day. If a child needs to contact a parent, we ask that they do so in the front office. This is in alignment with the new state law SB178 and our district policies. Thanks for helping us with this.

Attendance and Ridgecrest Code of Conduct

Teachers handed out our attendance policy and our Ridgecrest Code of Conduct at Back to School Night. If you haven’t read, signed, and returned these documents to your child’s teacher, please do so as soon as possible. They are also attached here.

Safe Pick Up and Drop Off

We need your help to have our drop off and pick up be safe and quick for everyone. Our main goal is child safety. Please follow these simple guidelines.

  1. First, when using the drop off and pick up lane, please have your child exit out the right hand side of your car once you are next to the sidewalk. You may need to move a car seat or other items out of the way to accommodate this. Parents, please do not exit your car or let your child out on the traffic side. This is very dangerous.
  2. We prefer that you use our drop of lanes for drop off. However, if you choose to use the parking lot to drop off your child, you must walk your child to the crosswalk. Children are too small to be easily seen by drivers without an adult and we have had too many near misses. Also, if you are late, there may not be an adult to help at the crosswalk and you will need to help your child to safely cross.
  3. Antczak park is not on school property. If you have your child leave campus to wait for you, there isn’t supervision and we can no longer be responsible for their safety.

Please see the attached diagram to help you understand how our drop off and pick up should flow.

From Our PTA

Hello Ridgecrest Parents/Families,

1. Our ONLY Fundraiser begins Sunday, August 31st. This is the donation link: https://www.successfund.com/v39wk Please consider donating in any way you can, as EVERY donation counts. See the tiger tail stripes in the school front windows, as our total amount raised increases. As a reminder, prize winners will be drawn for every $5,000 raised. We will celebrate raising $20,000 at a Classic Skating party on Thursday, September 26 from 5-9pm. If we reach our $25,000 goal, Mrs. Allen and I will be duct taped to the wall by students. These funds go directly to all students at Ridgecrest, plus we grant half of what we raise to the school. We also support teachers throughout the year with meals and items to show our appreciation. Please help in any way you can.

We have 2 upcoming community events to help our fundraising efforts. They are WORKOUT WEDNESDAYs. On Sept. 3 we have a pickleball tournament for kids and adults. Kids will start at 6pm at Antczak Park. Adults will play after kids. Bring your paddle. On Sept. 10 we have an exercise class, Surge Strength, taught by Emily Featherstone, a certified instructor. It will be on the tennis courts at Antczak Park at 6pm. Bring a mat/towel and your choice of light, medium, and heavy weights (suggested 5/8/10 pounds each). Donations are appreciated at each of the Workout Wednesday classes and water and Gatorade will be available for $2 each. See attached Fundraiser flyer for more details.

(@ridgecrest_pta).
Thank you also for all who have joined PTA already! Your membership strengthens PTA’s voice for students, especially as PTA supports legislative bills that support our students. Volunteering is NOT required to becoming a member. You can join PTA herehttps://ridgecrest.givebacks.com/shop.
