Ridgecrest Roar – September 15, 2024

Principal’s Message

Good evening Ridgecrest families,

Thank you for a great first week of our joint school and PTA fundraiser. We are so grateful for our community. This week our fundraiser continues with small ways that students can participate each day. Every time they participate, they earn tickets to be part of our drawing for fantastic prizes that have been donated for our students. See below for more information.

We also have a lot of before school and extra curricular activities that are starting. Please see below for information about STEAM Squad, choir, Ridgecrest Runners, Book Blitz Jr., Chess Club, and Reflections.

Fundraiser and Fun Run

It is Fundraiser Time! The Ridgecrest PTA and School Fundraiser continue through this week and includes our Fun Run Event on Friday, 9/20.

Our goal this year is $28,000.00 and we have currently raised almost $4,000.00. We truly appreciate all of you who have donated and all of you who participated in the community events last week. We still have $24,000.00 to go. We can do it!

We are asking for a $60.00 donation per student to help reach our goal. Ridgecrest has such a strong and supportive community. Organizing our own fundraiser means we keep virtually all the money we raise and this money goes directly to the students and the school. Any donation counts and we appreciate your support. Please refer to the attached flier for specific information.

Here is the link to donate: https://www.successfund.com/78g9j

Also all the students will receive a Ridgecrest Fun Run Shirt

-If we reach $20,000 all of the students will get a card game -If we reach our goal $28,000 the Ms. Allen, and Brooke Schneider, and some other teachers and staff will be dunked in a Dunk Tank!

The more you and your student participate the more entries your student gets into the drawing for prizes.
This week’s activities are ways for our students to participate and earn tickets for our prize drawing! Please Refer to the flier for specific details.

Thrive Time

This week during our Thrive Time lesson, we’re still focusing on respecting ourselves and others. One way that we can show respect is by communicating positively with others. Full body listening helps us to do this. Full body listening means that we use our eyes to look at the speaker, use our ears to listen when others are speaking, we have a still body, and we use kind words when it’s our turn to talk. Allowing all of our classmates and friends the chance to share their thoughts is also showing respect.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Scheduling for Parent Teacher Conferences is open. Conferences will be held on September 23rd and 25th in the evening. Our DLI classes will also hold conferences, during the daytime, Monday – Thursday of that week. Please note that school will release at 1:40 PM on Thursday, September 26th, and there is no school held on September 27th.

Please sign up for your opportunity to speak to your child’s teachers if you haven’t already. Available spots are first come first serve on Parent Square. Please watch for more information from your child’s teacher.
