Ridgecrest Roar

RIDGECREST ROAR       May 25, 2020

Good evening Ridgecrest families,

It is bitter sweet to be sending the last Ridgecrest Roar tonight.  I am sad that our year is coming to an end and we have not had a chance to say a proper goodbye to our students.  With that being said, I know parents and teachers are exhausted and ready for a summer break. I am sorry to tell you that we do not have solid plans for next year yet.  We are waiting for the state school board to come out with the regulations and then we will finalize our plan.  We have many ideas and will be ready with whatever comes our way. We are hoping for a green return! As soon as I get information I can share with you, I will send an update out.  I know you are patiently waiting for some answers.  I want to thank the Ridgecrest community for your unwavering support throughout this crisis.  I know our teachers and staff have felt your love and support and we greatly appreciate you. We miss our parents and students!

This week we will hold our Chromebook return days.  They will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm.  You will simply need to drive up, roll down the window, place the Chrome book into a plastic tub and drive off.  If you have a library book it can be placed in the same tub.  Please remember your charging cord and hot spot if you have one.  If you can’t make one of those days, please call the office and we will make other arrangements.

If you did not attend the Reverse Parade and you still have not picked up your students supplies, please pull to the end of the Chromebook return line and tell the teacher helping you that you need your student’s supplies, we will then get the supplies for you.  This will be your last opportunity to pick up student materials.  They will be disposed of after Thursday.

Please remember to return your Library books!  We are down to about 100 left to collect. Way to go!

Our teachers have completed the report cards and the district will be mailing them out next week.  In the grading areas and the learning skills they have been marked with a C19.  The teachers have written individualized comments for each child in the comment section.  If you have moved since the beginning of the year, please check that your address in Skyward is accurate.  The district will be mailing to the Skyward address. If it is incorrect, please call Mrs. Hille by Friday so she can edit it for you.  801-826-9250

Please help us get the word out for our Kindergarten registration, we are working hard to get an accurate count of students that will be attending Ridgecrest next year.  Kindergarten registration is online this year.  Parents simply need to go to the Canyons School District website and register their child.  Kindergarten orientation is still on hold. I am hoping to hold it shortly before the school year starts, but at this point I do not have permission to have that many people together in the school.
