RIDGECREST ROAR May 21, 2023
Good evening Ridgecrest families,
This year came and went so fast. It really is surprising to me every year when the end of the year seems to come so quickly. Please remember that the last day for kindergarten is Monday, 5/22. Our kindergarten students will all be completing their end of year, individual assessment during pre-scheduled appointments on May 23-25. Speaking of assessments, we did reach our required goal of 95% of students completing the RISE test in 3-5th grade. Thank you for helping to make that a priority and having your children at school each day. Our students have made some tremendous progress this year.
This will be our last newsletter for this school year. So, I want to take a moment to say thank you to a few groups. First, our Student Council has helped our school focus on kindness as a priority especially through the last month of school. They held an assembly this past week to celebrate kindness and it was well done. I also want to acknowledge those individuals that spend so much time at our school helping to run activities that enrich the experience for all children at Ridgecrest. Some of these will be moving on from Ridgecrest and leave a long legacy behind them. We wouldn’t be the wonderful community we are without their dedication. Thank you so much!
School will be released this Friday at 12:45 PM. Please make arrangements to have your child picked up at this time. The office will be officially closed by 1:00 PM. There will not be an adult available to supervise your child past this time.

Kindergarten Registration – We are working on class placement for the upcoming school year. If you have a child that will be five years of age on or before September 1, 2023, the child qualifies for kindergarten this fall. Please help spread the word to families around you in our community to begin enrollment online using our school website, ridgecrest.canyonsdistrict.org.
Library Books Missing – We currently have 48 overdue books and 54 lost books from our library. Will you please help find our missing books by looking around your house and returning any books you find to our library. Thank you!
Summer Options – ST Math is available all summer long. Students can use their Clever log on to access this and keep enjoying the fun puzzles while also keeping their math skills fresh.
