Ridgecrest Roar – May 1, 2022

RIDGECREST ROAR              May 1st, 2022

Good evening Ridgecrest families,

We celebrated the amazing Ridgecrest staff this week and were overwhelmed with the generosity of appreciation that has been shown to us. Thank you for the outpouring of support!

We also want to say thank you to our PTA who went above and beyond. Our school was transformed into a magical place through their efforts. I have never experienced a teacher appreciation week with as much attention to detail and overall joy and fun. Thank you!

School Information

RISE Testing – End of year assessments are continuing, and we are so impressed with the stamina and hard work of our students. Thank you for making sure students come to school well rested and ready to do their best!

Ridgecrest is Hiring! – We have two positions open on our staff next year. We are looking for a behavior assistant and a reading interventionist. If you or someone you know is great at working with kids and wants to join a wonderful team please apply here: https://jobs.canyonsdistrict.org/human-resources/index.cfm#!/jobs/44

Community Night – We are celebrating the Year of the Tiger and our community on May 9th. Our students have created art projects about “What it means to be a tiger” and we want to invite you to come see it.  We will also have our choir performing as well as students performing the Dragon dance. We are asking families to come in two groups according to their last name. You will be able to walk through the building to see our student artwork and then meet in the gym for our performances. Attached is a flier with the schedule. We hope to see you there. Year of Tiger Celebration 2022 Flyer.jpg

STEM Classroom – Students have had so much fun in our STEM booster class this year, exploring engineering and technology using Lego’s, robotics tools, and many other resources. However, we need your help. We are experiencing theft of some of the resources used in this class. This is a good opportunity to talk with your child and re-teach the importance of not taking things that aren’t theirs. Some popular items that go missing are Legos (especially the fun little ones, like dogs), Mario Kart toys, minions, McDonald type toys. We want these items to be available for future classes! Also, if you find these, please send them back to school. Thanks for your help!

From the PTA:

Teacher Appreciation Week was a success thanks to all the donations and support you gave. THANK YOU!
