RIDGECREST ROAR October 9, 2022
Good evening Ridgecrest families,
We had Career Day on Friday. It was so kind of our community members to share their careers and expertise with our students. We had a wide array of careers represented, including police, fire fighters, a speech coach, scientists, and business leaders. Thank you so much for a great experience!
We also want to congratulate Marci Cardon, our School Community Council chairperson. Marci was selected as the Volunteer of the Year as part of Canyons School District’s Apex Awards. Marci has done so many great things for our school community. Marci has been the PTA president twice, the SCC president twice, runs the Ridgecrest Runners each year, and coordinates our spelling bee and Chinese New Year celebration each year. She is a Ridgecrest Tiger through and through and we are so excited her dedication to our school is being recognized. Thank you, Marci!

Zones of Regulation – Through our Zones lesson this week, students are recognizing how their behavior affects others. One aspect of this is learning about helpful and unhelpful behaviors. Helpful behaviors are those that help all students learn, follow our school rules, and are appropriate and kind. Unhelpful behaviors distract others from learning, may be unkind, and might make others uncomfortable. When we all try our hardest to have helpful behaviors, our school is a more kind and safe place where we can all learn and do our best.
