RIDGECREST ROAR June 3, 2019
Hello Ridgecrest Parents,
It is hard to believe that this is the last Ridgecrest Roar of the year. This year passed so quickly. I want to give a special thanks to Marci Cardon and the PTA board for making the 2018-2019 school year amazing. I would also like to thank all the volunteers that helped with Watch dog dads, Chess Club, Ridgecrest Runners, the Fun Run fundraiser, Field Day, Grandparents lunch, Teacher Appreciation week, classroom parties and many other fun activities. I would also like to thank the parents, grandparents, and community members that spent hours helping in our classrooms. We could not make learning so fun without the incredible support of our community and all the volunteers that put in tireless hours to support our staff and students. THANK YOU!
I have added the dates for Back to School night and the first day of school for next year to the Upcoming Events section at the bottom of this newsletter. We will be excited to see you all in the fall.
This week is a fun week for students. Please note, we get out at 12:40 pm on Thursday, this is an hour earlier than every other early release day! We will not be serving breakfast or lunch that day.
We still have memory books for sale in the office, while supplies last. If you want to pay online then they can show the receipt in the office and we will give you a book.
Lost and Found will be donated on Thursday at the release of school.
Find current PTA information and news (updated weekly) www.ridgecrestelementarypta.org AND Follow us on Instagram @ridgecrest_pta to see what is happening at the school.
Field Day for Grades 1-5 will be held on Tuesday, June 4. All events will be held at Antzack Park next to the school. Student will participate in many beach themed games, activities and relays. Please be sure that your child is dressed in clothing and shoes for sun, running, and getting wet. (NO Swimsuits) Clothing that is comfortable and dries quickly is best.
We are in need of MANY VOLUNTEERS in order for field day to be successful. There are many time slots available, and many different tasks. Please follow the link to the signup genius to find a time that you can help!
The schedule will be as follows
5th grade: 9am-10:30am
3rd grade: 10am-11:30am
4th grade: 11am-12:30pm
1st grade: 1pm-2:15pm
2nd grade: 1:45pm-3:15pm
We are seeking morning volunteers to stay from 8:30am-12:30pm, and the afternoon volunteers to stay from 12:45-3:15. We will need additional volunteers to be assigned to each grade level during their specific time frame. More details can be found in the sign-up genius. Also, please do not bring other little ones with you when you volunteer. Our students need your 100% attention with these activities. Thank you!
BOX TOPS are going completely Digital!!
Exciting news in the world of Box Tops for Education.
Over the summer, all box top products will be transitioning to a digital format using the new Box Tops App. Parents, Family and Neighbors will connect to our school through the App, and then scan their grocery receipts for the school to be instantly credited from your purchases. Find more information about getting the app and how to use it in the attached Box Tops Flyer. Also, continue to clip box tops from all of those products in your pantry- Ridgecrest will be holding a final Box Tops store to collect them in the fall.
